To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the devil his due. ― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 4: Season of Mists. (Vertigo; Gph edition, March 10, 1999) Originally published 1990.

  1. I have to agree. I’ve read a couple of his short story collections, and breezed through American Gods, and yet I have never been that overly impressed by anything other than his Sandman run for Vertigo.I regret that I ever sold those comics. Moreover, I cannot figure out why he has never novelized the entire Sandman run. I think that’s an oversight because it would be huge.
